MOTORS FOR TAPPING APPLICATIONS

They are characterized by the ability to rapidly reverse the direction of rotation of the output shaft. They are designed to be mounted on slides, sliding rails, parallelogram supports, that hold the torque due to the tapping and accompany the forward motion generated by the tap. (For these applications, contact Ober customer service).
Thanks to its elasticity, the motor adapts, within certain limits, to the working conditions of the tap as well as reducing the risk of breakage.
There are three types of motor for tapping available:
REVERSING THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION WITH AXIAL MOVEMENT (PUSH-PULL)
The motor always rotates in a clockwise direction. The shaft is connected via a mechanical coupling that, when the motor is pushed against the piece to be tapped this determines the right rotation, when the direc- tion of thrust is inverted, rotation is automatically reversed and the tap is unscrewed. The speed of rotation during unscrewing is about twice that during tapping.
REVERSING THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION WITH MOTOR REVERSAL
The motor is reversible and must be connected with a reversal valve. The control valve determines the direction of rotation with right for tapping, and left to unscrew. The speed of rotation during unscrewing is equal to that during tapping.
REVERSING THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION WITH MOTOR REVERSAL + GEAR BOX
The motor is reversible and must be connected with a reversal valve. The control valve determines the direction of rotation with right for tapping, and left to unscrew. The machine is equipped with a two-speed synchronized gear box, which allows the no-load speed to be changed from 300 to 100 revolutions/min, and thus obtain the conditions for ideal tapping for a broad range of threading diameters and/or materials to be threaded.
